Indoor Drip Irrigation System
Indoor drip irrigation is an easy alternative to a full hydroponic setup. It can also be used for soil gardening. This setup does not return extra nutrient or water to the reservoir so careful timing must be used! You will also want to use individual "saucers" or a large flat tray to catch drainage and to help prevent flooding should you over water.
A loose, dense medium is recommended such as rockwool, coconut coir or a perlite and vermiculite mix. Any dense medium which retains water well can be used, fast draining medium like expanded clay pellets or gravel will not work.
Whether used with soil and water or a hydroponic medium and nutrient, careful monitoring of moisture content is very important. A timer that can be set for 1 minute intervals is needed.
