How to build an Air Lift Pump

The materials used to construct an air lift pump can be found easily. Most are common in most households. The hose should to be at least 1/2" or larger. The 1/4" barbed elbow is not absolutely necessary but does insure that the smaller aquarium hose does not get kinked or fall out.
